Wildwood Boardwalk’s iconic Route 66-themed restaurant is up for sale

Elvis and Betty Boop have been hanging out there for years. Well, statues of them, anyway.

And now is your chance to own the memorabilia, belongings, and gear that make up the Route 66 Restaurant and Pizzeria on the Wildwood Boardwalk.

Yes, even the iconic 1932 Hot Rod on the roof could be yours. But the building and the property are not part of the package.

The company is listed for an asking price of $180,000 and was first reported by WatchTheTramCarPlease.com.

Current owner Dino Pierelli, who has operated the business for about 15 years, says he is ready to retire after 32 years in the restaurant industry.

“I want to have fun and spend time with my wife,” he said. “I haven’t seen a summer for a long time. I want to be on the beach once in a while.

The company is located near the center of the promenade and close to Morey’s Pier and other attractions.

The turnkey 140-seat facility is located in the middle of the Wildwood Boardwalk, near Morey’s Pier.

“It’s unusual and very rare to come because it’s in such a great location and as such places like this don’t come on the market very often,” said real estate agent Bojidar “Bob” Dimitrov of Coastline Realty. “People don’t move on when they get something that’s developed and makes a living out of it.

“It’s a good opportunity.”

The company has a full-service kitchen that can serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And the 140-seat establishment is turnkey. It is leased for $78,000 per year with 2022 and 2023 remaining on the lease, with an option to extend for 5 years.

Doo-wop-era decor includes red, white, and black checkered floors, red cabs, cars, motorcycles, records, and other pop culture nods.

“Everyone knows who we are,” Pierelli said. “I have good food, but it’s the people. That’s the whole story.

“You meet all types of people that you could possibly meet from all different countries. It’s a resort area, so a lot of people come here.
