Why KYU NYC is New York’s Hottest New Restaurant

Sleek big-city restaurants are in spades, especially in the age of social media where any brick-and-mortar establishment knows that postability has to be the first priority. A place where customers can perform at their best, vibrate and capture content from themselves, the ambience and the food and drink is a guaranteed win, right?

As a girl who goes out often and always wears a nice ensemble to do so, I know better than anyone that what often accompanies this is a compromised dining experience. Too many times I’ve visited some of the city’s most sought after dining establishments, dressed to do it and been disappointed in just about everything but the ambiance and the cocktails.

There’s usually one caveat – probably the food won’t be too good. KYU NYC, however, is not that kind of place.

After Miami and Mexico City, the newest addition to the KYU family is nestled in the stylish intersection of Lafayette and Bleecker on the Lower East Side, and offers a wildly chic yet inviting vibe.

Every night you’ll spot chic Loewe bags strewn about the dining room, evenings of model friends wearing sunglasses in the dimly lit space (because that’s what New Yorkers do), couples chic in coordinated outfits and even whole families giving only the highest type of Vineyard Vines energy.

The dishes are just as elegant, but actually as good as they look. My favorites: roasted cauliflower, king crab fried rice, crispy kale and saddle of lamb. And while so, all are served in the perfect way for an Instagram moment, it’s the taste that will have you coming back again and again.

So for what occasions should you choose KYU? The ultimate girls’ night out, date night party, when you just feel like being cute, or trying to impress your co-workers with your knowledge of NYC restaurants that are Actually worth the hype.
