Trooper: 2 injured when car hits restaurant in York County SC

A car crashed into a restaurant in York County on Sunday, injuring people and shutting down the business, according to the owners of the Flipside Cafe near Fort Mill.

The owners of Flipside posted on Facebookk that the car slammed into the building, located on a commercial street off US 21 at Regent Parkway. At the time of the accident, people were eating and working inside.

Photos posted by Flipside showed that Flint Hill Fire Department and EMS responded, and damage to the restaurant.

The incident happened around 10:15 a.m. on private property, Chief Trooper Gary Miller of the SC Highway Patrol.

A car driven by a 61-year-old man hit a parked car and then hit the building, Miller said. The driver of the car was injured, Miller said. One person inside the building was injured, Miller said.

The incident is still under investigation, Miller said.

The Flipside restaurant post received hundreds of shares and comments.

It remains to be seen when the restaurant will reopen.
