There’s a lot of restaurant news this week.

The cost is $2.29 million.

It is due to open in August.

Derek Inc. has a permit to remodel the former Krispy Kreme location at 4911 Frederica St. for a Chipotle Mexican Grill.

The cost of renovating the 2,541 square foot building is estimated at $698,814.

The opening is scheduled for this spring.

Marx Contracting is renovating Penn Station at 3525 Frederica St. at a cost of $8,000.

And the Jamaican Yard vibe just opened a Jamaican restaurant at 2845 W. Parrish Ave.

It’s in the Audubon Plaza Mall, across Parrish Avenue from the Moonlite Bar-BQ Inn.

• Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, which has a Frederica Street location, is growing nationally.

The chain plans to open 65 restaurants this year and double its footprint to 800 locations by 2026.

• Kohl’s this week announced plans to add Reese Witherspoon’s Draper James RSVP clothing line to 500 of its stores this year.

No word on if Owensboro is one of the locations.

The ad states that the garments feature “a colorful, contemporary Southern style, with images of magnolia blossoms, light blue and white striped canopies, and other feminine features.”
