DOWNTOWN — Concordia University students continue to be spoiled for choice when it comes to affordable dining options in the area. The last is called Mr. Tantuni, and according to the daily hive, is the first Canadian franchise of a chain that has more than 500 in Turkey and Europe. Its namesake dish is a popular street food consisting of thinly sliced meat that has been boiled and fried, then wrapped in lavash bread with tomatoes, onions and parsley.

GRIFFINTOWN — A group of industry veterans, including Matthew Shefler and Chef Vincent Lévesque-Lepage of Villeray Knuckles Italian Restaurant, opened an all-day cafe, wine bar and restaurant on Notre-Dame, corner St-Martin. Learn more here.

OLD MONTREAL — A new French restaurant and rum distillery has opened on the very touristy Rue de la Commune, just opposite the Old Port. It’s called Délices & Rhums and brings a lot of greenery to an old space with stone walls.
Délices & Rhums is open Sunday to Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and Thursday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 a.m., at 269 Rue de la Commune Est.
PLATEAU — After laying the groundwork for the Franco-Italian restaurant and fermented food destination Cabaret L’Enfer for more than two years, chef Massimo Piedimonte has officially opened his doors. Read more about the highly anticipated new restaurant here.
