Founder and CEO of Krab Queenz Seafood and Daiquiris Tonic Clay Announces 8th Ambassador Franchise Location dapper dan and Hello Krab Queenz Harlem.

Black serial entrepreneur and philanthropist Tonique Clay is soaring in the food industry with the announcement of her historic location in Harlem, NY. Serving as the franchise’s first location in New York, Krab Queenz Harlem is 11,000 square feet and is the world’s largest seafood restaurant owned by an African-American woman. The famous Louisiana-based seafood chain will open its first New York restaurant in the former Harlem Olive Garden on 125th Street. The location couldn’t be more perfect for the southern born restaurant as it sits in the heart of Black Mecca around the corner from Malcolm X Boulevard and serves as neighbors to Whole Foods Market and furniture giant Raymour and Flanigan. From its early Harlem roots, the area has been altered but still retains many of its Harlem characteristics, attributes, and aesthetics.

Dapper Dan has been named Krab Queenz Harlem’s new ambassador and consultant to help create an authentic Harlem atmosphere. Dan’s expertise in fashion, design and people has blessed the restaurant. From a private section to the uniform shirts worn by employees on opening day, Dapper Dan’s Harlem concepts are integrated throughout the restaurant. Dapper Dan’s influence will also be visible in the restaurant’s unique social and community events.

“Krab Queenz is a brand that prides itself on providing an excellent dining experience for each of our customers. We want our customers to feel like family in our establishments in addition to offering our delicious recipes. It’s the thing to do in the south,” said founder Tonique Clay.

“We plan to raise the bar with the Harlem location. We partnered with the legendary Dapper Dan to create this place. Together we have planned several events to celebrate, give back and engage local communities, and it is a blessing to open in Harlem. Yet it is an even greater blessing to be able to give.

Founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2016, Krab Queenz has since expanded across the Southeast with restaurants in Houston, Atlanta, Hattiesburg and Jackson, Miss. and more. The franchise’s success can be attributed to its great food, loyal customers and nationwide community initiatives. The key to Krab Queenz Seafood’s success is that it operates on southern hospitality and prides itself on providing a unique dining experience. These fundamentals have helped Krab Queenz propel his large following on social media. Krab Queenz Harlem opens June 11, 2022, hosted by a slew of Harlem notables, including Ambassador Dapper Dan, with a grand opening celebration in tribute to Harlem. The Grand Opening Ceremony will begin at 1:00 p.m.
