To boast of being “the longest”, or the “oldest” or “the most significant”, something or other usually has a deeper meaning than just a noble title. This is certainly the case with Frasinetti’s Winery & Restaurant, named after an Italian immigrant, James Frasinetti, who moved to America to offer quality wines crafted in the “Old World” style.
At first, horse-drawn wagons were used to deliver wine to the Sacramento area. But when James Frasinetti arrived, the landscape transformed from an import industry to a local, generational enterprise with some 400 acres of wine grapes at its peak.

You can almost feel the rich history and commitment to adhering to original Old World production practices on site.

Here, customers can taste and purchase more than a dozen unique, flavorful and aromatic varietals, in addition to taking home great wine-related paraphernalia or as gifts for friends and family.

The ambiance here still captures the essence of what it was in the 1940s, when the winery produced stellar wines year after year. The repurposing of some of the old huge wine vats, as well as the addition of seats made from old redwood trees add to the ambience.

More inventive dishes incorporating salmon and prawns, and the Gnocchi Gorgonzola are oh so delicious!

The attention to detail and high quality ingredients used in the wines along with the premium menu speaks volumes about the family’s commitment to excellence.
