The first Connecticut location of Wahlburgers, the casual restaurant and bar chain, is set to open at Foxwoods Resort Casino next summer.
The restaurant, founded by brothers Mark, Donnie and chef Paul Wahlberg, provides “a mecca for fans of the Wahlberg brothers and the Wahlburgers TV series,” Foxwoods said in an announcement Wednesday.
Wahlburgers will replace Fuddruckers, which closes in September. Construction should begin in October.
The restaurant’s interior will include photos and memorabilia that follow the Wahlberg brothers’ journey from their roots in Dorchester, Massachusetts, to becoming celebrities.
“The addition of Wahlburgers represents another exceptional moment for the property as we continue our mission to enhance the Foxwoods experience,” said Jason Guyot, President and CEO of Foxwoods. “Like Foxwoods, Wahlburgers is a family business that has ties to the local community and provides a premium customer experience.”
The menu offers a variety of fresh burgers and sandwiches, starter salads, appetizers or “Wahlbites”, as well as vegetarian options. Wahlburgers’ full-service bar offers ‘Wahlcoctions’ cocktails, wines and beers, including ‘Wahlbrewski’, an unfiltered pale ale.
“Having grown up not too far from Foxwoods Resort Casino, it’s a natural fit for our team and we’re excited to open a Wahlburgers on the property,” said Mark Wahlberg.
The announcement marks the third addition to Foxwoods’ dining offering since March. Recently, Foxwoods opened the Canopy Players’ Lounge, a buffet-style lounge, and began construction on Sushi By Bou.
