Disney World fans slam $625 tickets at Victoria & Albert restaurant

  • Disney World’s Victoria & Albert Restaurant has raised prices significantly since reopening in July.
  • The restaurant’s Chef’s Table experience tasting menu is $425, plus $200 for wine.
  • Disney is facing criticism over the price it charges people to eat out.

Disney World’s Victoria & Albert Restaurant has dramatically increased its prices recently – and it’s left a bad taste in some fans’ mouths.

The The New York Post first reported the news.

Victoria & Albert’s is located in the Disney Grand Floridian Resort and is one of Disney’s most upscale restaurants. The restaurant offers three dining experiences, the Dining Room, the Chef’s Table and the Queen Victoria Room.

The Chef’s Table tasting menu, which was $350 per person before the pandemic, is now $425 per person, per the disney food blog. The wine costs $200 more, bringing the bill to $625. The chef’s table only has one place for six people per night.

The cheapest restaurant option, a tasting menu in the dining room, now starts at $295 per person. It previously cost $185 per person, according to the Disney Food blog. The dining room menu includes caviar, scallops, Texas wild boar and Kobe beef, according to another Disney blog, All ears.

The high prices have drawn criticism on social media. “I’m sure it’s a great experience and super fancy but no thanks. I walked out. No way I’m spending $300 pp on food,” one user wrote on a Reddit thread.

Another wrote: “You could have a 3 star Michelin experience at Alinea in Chicago for the same price. Unreal.”

Disney did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment made outside of normal working hours.

The prices Disney charges for food and drink have often raised eyebrows. Earlier this year, cruise ship Disney Wish announced a $5,000 “Star Wars” themed cocktail party, which was served in its upscale Hyperspace Lounge.

The prize included a trip to Skywalker Vineyards at Skywalker Ranch and a shot glass, however.
