Popular West Auckland establishment The Tasting Shed has been forced to close, unable to make ends meet after the pandemic.
Owners Ganesh and Jo Raj made it official on Tuesday morning, saying Covid-19 and associated lockdowns had made it impossible to pay operating expenses, taxes and rent.
“We have done our best to overcome the effects of the pandemic, but the impact on hospitality has been too difficult for us,” said Ganesh Raj, a popular personality from the television series Eat Well For Less.
“The cost of goods and services has increased dramatically and there are fewer people to fill vacancies which is an industry-wide problem, there is simply no light in sight. .
