Chicago Restaurant Co. accused of imposing surprise fees

Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises Inc., a private company that owns more than 100 restaurants nationwide — including co-defendant Do-Rite Tinley LLC, a restaurant chain that serves donuts and fried chicken sandwiches — put set up a deceptive and illegal scheme to charge extra fees without notice, according to the complaint filed Tuesday by plaintiff named James Maher.
